July 4th - family fun in sarasota

After a day of miniture golf, off shore race boats at the bay and ‘linner’ (that’s lunch/dinner) at Cha Cha Coconuts at St. Armands Circle we headed back over to the bay for fireworks.  It was packed with sailboats, tents, and people lounging on the shore all in anticipation of a great show.

*and fyi, Victoria & I tied for 1st place in mini golf!!  the guys were speechless.

Yes, hot, sweaty but still feelin’ the love!

We passed the time playing cards and people watching.

Patrick always in his shades…….just like me!

Patrick so cool and laidback

Victoria my little beauty who hates to look directly into the camera.

And Matt our ‘3rd’ child who thinks he’s a card shark.

This is what I do when I get bored and need to entertain myself.  Strike a pose.  Course I need to pay attention to Ford more before I do my ‘vogue’!

And yes here’s Ford, never far from his iTouch.

Just before the fireworks began.  Course I took this with my p/s but I love the way the sun set last night.

Hope you all had a great 4th!

Emy, Ryan & One Gorgeous Beach Wedding

This past Saturday we had the priviledge of photographing their wedding on Siesta Key, FL.  It was an intimate gathering of guests from Kansas City & Des Moines.  Originally the ceremony was set for 6pm but after checking several weather bureaus they moved it to 4pm.  Which ironically we were out on the beach with Emy & Ryan around 545pm when the downpour hit!  Everything turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to see what she has planned for their reception in DesMoines later this month!

Emy & Ryan Engagement Shoot

Emy & Ryan flew into Sarasota on Tuesday from Kansas City for their wedding tomorrow on Siesta Key.  So on Wednesday the four of us met at St. Armands Circle for a few hours of fun & shoe shopping!  They are a great couple.  We all laughed and sweated A LOT but no one complained.  Oh and aren’t they a gorgeous couple!?!?

Jessica’s & Victor’s Beach Wedding

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding here in Sarasota, FL.  It was a beautiful spring evening with a light breeze and mild temps.  They wanted to make sure that it was a special family affair so they rented a private estate near St. Armands Circle, which also offered them a private beach.  They had planned everything around the sunset and even when they second guessed themselves on the timing, serendipity had a way of making sure it was the perfect sunset wedding they could ever imagine.  You two are very special and you deserve all the happiness in the world!

Jessica loves Juicy Couture.  Fits her fun, beautiful style!

Love this shot!

Jessica’s face was priceless when they told her to stop breathing for a moment.

The tatoo is in honor of her grandfather.

We waited until after the ceremony to photograph Jessica’s bridals.  She was stunning!

Course she was always up for some fun.

And we didn’t forget Victor!

Sneak Peak of Jessica & Victor’s Beach Wedding

Here’s a peak into their beautiful beach wedding in Sarasota, FL.  They were married at sunset on a private beach near St. Armand’s Circle & it was a perfect day.  The heat and humidity took a break for the day & gave them a gorgeous sunset.  Everyone really had a great time & we were thrilled they had asked us to photograph their wedding.  We’re currently sitting in the Charlotte airport waiting for our next flight working on these BUT we wanted to get a couple up so everyone could see how beautiful they were!  Have a great honeymoon you two & we’ll talk soon.

Jessica & Victor Engagement Session

They’re wedding is in May so we got together and had so much fun! They are so energetic & up for anything!! We started out at a bowling alley & then headed to downtown Sarasota. And we have to say THANKS to Ofer Levy, owner of the boutique Phasion with Pashion. He and his staff were so cool to let us come in and get some playful shots inside. Enjoy!

And this is what happens when the client turns the camera on the pro:-0

Alyca & David - Sarasota, FL

We had the pleasure of photographing their bayside wedding recently here in Sarasota. The day was a gorgeous day with blue skies and a great breeze. After the ceremony they were headed to San Francisco but we got to spend time with them wandering around the bay. We all had so much fun playing around the sculptures & boats.

And don’t you just love her dress & veil. She was stunning and we had tourist coming over asking to take her picture. Hope San Francisco was a blast!

Enjoy & check back soon for their slideshow.

Lisa & Rich Wedding - Sarasota, FL

This past weekend Ford & I spent the weekend photographing Lisa & Rich’s wedding. It was so much fun & everyone, including her dad, Fred, kept us laughing constantly. We truly had a great time with all of you and we will never listen to ‘Low’ again without thinking of you! Here are a few images from the wedding day but check back tomorrow for your slideshow. I guarantee it’ll keep you crying & laughing! Enjoy……

Mary & Cash Wedding - Sarasota, FL

We had the pleasure of photographing their wedding recently and had so much fun with them. I wanted to share a few images & brag about their coordinator, Nicole Kaney, http://www.nkproductions.net. She did an absolutely beautiful job and blew us all away at how organized & calm she stayed when it began to rain around 3pm. Orginially the ceremony was scheduled for the gardens of Ca d’Zan, http://www.ringling.org/ca-mansion.asp but when it became apparent the rain was settling in (rare for Florida this time of year), Nicole and the Ringling team worked magic & secured an alternate location. Unfortunately due to privacy reasons I can’t show the ceremony location but let me say, it was BREATHTAKING! Everyone was amazed how they moved the ceremony, guests & stayed on schedule seemlessly.

But then, she also worked to move the reception which was scheduled for the terrace at Ca d’Zan. Chris Starman & Clara Ramos at the Ritz Carlton, http://www.ritzcarlton.com, helped get everything moved over and again everything appeared so seemless and smooth for all the guests. Chris & Clara worked with Brian from Mattison’s, http://www.mattisons.com, to make sure Mary & Cash had a wonderful, fun and memorable reception. It really all turned out fantastic. The guests had a great time celebrating with Mary & Cash. The band rocked the reception & the dance floor stayed packed. Oh and I have to say Becki at Flowers by Fudgie, http://www.flowersbyfudgie.com did a great job, along with Tim at The Party Trolley. He kept everyone smiling and laughing between locations. Congrats Mary & Cash! Stay tuned because tomorrow I’ll post a slideshow.

Mary getting her make-up done by the Ritz artist. These two ladies were so sweet & attentive.

Mary’s ‘ellie’ helped me throughout the day.
